Prerequisites:
Proof
of 6 months work experience as a Dental Assistant; Hepatitis
B
immunization records OR HBV Refusal form; TB Test Result
(old or new); CPR certification.

Content and Format:
Our
84-hour / 3 full weekend Orthodontic Assisting Permit course
is a board approved course, which will
satisfy the state board requirements. This is a Blended
Course, which combines: Online / Home Study & class
attendance to satisfy the Dental Board requirements.

Ultrasonic
Scaler Permit

This course IS a requirement as part of the Orthodontic
Permit/OAP
Prerequisites:
To
take this course, you must possess a valid RDA license or
you must
possess the necessary requirements for application for the
RDA or the OAP licensure or
have an RDA/OA diploma and have a valid CPR/BLS certification
from AHA or ARC.
Course
Content and Format:
This
Dental Board approved course satisfies the requirement for
certification of the OAP
and the RDA in the use of the ultrasonic scaler for the
removal of cement from the
supragingival surface of teeth that have orthodontic bands.

hour Infection Control and 2 hour Dental Practice Act
Course
Description:
This
course is provided as a blended course that incorporates
both in office experience and classroom work as well.
This course satisfies The Dental Board requirements for
the 2 Hour Infection Control and the 2 Hour Dental Practice
Act renewals.

RDA
Written Review / Law & Ethics Classes, Written Home
Study
Course
Description:
Dental
Advantage provides a one-day review class for the State
Board Written Exam.
Leading the class are caring instructors with over 25 years
experience.
This instructional course will include a combination of
lecture, video, powerpoint and interactive presentations.
A study guide and sample test questions will be included.

Radiology
Course

This is a 3 Day course.
We
offer a Dental Board approved radiation safety course.
This course includes both: Lecture and clinical application
of x-ray safety, film exposure, processing, mounting and
evaluation.
For this course, we will be using: instructional videos,
workbook and physical demonstrations.
As
of July 1, 2002, individuals must also show proof of completion
of a California
radiation safety course and coronal polish course before
they can receive their R.D.A. license.

Coronal
Polish Course

This
is a 2 Day Course.
Beginning January 2002, individuals who wish to take the
R.D.A. exam will be required to have
12 months experience rather than the previously required
18 months.

Pit
& Fissure Sealant Course

This is a 2 day course.
Course
Description:
Dental
Advantage offers a Dental Board approved 16 hour CE, Pit
& Fissure Sealant course.
This two day course provides you with comprehensive theory
and clinical instruction.
Upon completion of this course and after meeting all state
requirements for the RDA, you may perform this procedure.
